Department of Physics

The Department of Physics is one of the most prestigious Departments of the College. It became a full fledged Department when the degree course was started in 1980. The post graduate course with specialization in Electronics was started in 2001 and the Department became an approved research centre under Mahatma Gandhi University in 2009. All teachers are well qualified and there are 3 M.Phil and 4 PhD holders. The Department is extensively using working models for class room teaching and demonstration. The Department regularly conducts workshops, seminars and is undertaking major research projects of different funding agencies and is also focusing attention on career counseling and guidance. The Department also provides facilities and assistance to outside students for carrying out their academic projects. In the last five years, the faculty has published 15 research papers in International peer reviewed journals.
