The Cochin College Union

In accordance with the guidelines established by the Lyngdoh Committee, the Government of Kerala, and Mahatma Gandhi University, the College has an active College Union that is elected through parliamentary means. A Chairperson, Vice Chairperson (for female students), General Secretary, Two University Union Councillors, College Magazine Editor, Arts Club Secretary, Sports Secretary, Two Lady Representatives, and both girl and boy representatives from each class make up the Student Council.

A student council’s primary goal is to find solutions to problems that students face in their academic or social lives. On behalf of the students, the Student Council presents complaints and suggestions to the Principal and College Council, who then take the necessary steps to resolve the issue. The Council members, class representatives, and secretaries of departmental associations hold formal meetings on a regular basis to plan co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
