Theoretical Physics

Jose Mathew is an Assistant Professor of Physics at The Cochin College. He earned his PhD from IISER Thiruvananthapuram in 2017, where he conducted research under the guidance of Prof. S. Shankaranarayanan, who is currently at IIT Bombay. He completed his Master’s degree from IIT Bombay in 2010 and qualified for CSIR JRF in 2009. Professor Mathew’s area of research is Theoretical Physics, with a focus on Particle Physics models of inflation in modified gravity, which was the title of his dissertation. Since joining The Cochin College in 2019, his expertise in this area, combined with his dedication to both teaching and research, makes him an invaluable asset to the department.
