Department of Hindi (Aided)

The Department of Hindi came into existence with the inception of the college in 1967, offering Hindi as second language to UG Degree students. The department has glorious academic tradition and has succeeded in making hindi popular choice among the students with the help of eminent and dedicated teachers. The department also provides the students the avenues to participate in various Co-curricular activities. The department has more than 1500 books in the Hindi section of the College library nurturing the academic and literary interests of students. The department has successfully completed the UGC sanctioned add on course in Journalism and Functional Hindi. Former Faculty 1. Prof. U Janaki. 1967-1995 2. Prof. Sreemathi Bai 1968-1997 3. Vision

"1. To acquaint the learners with preliminary concepts of various discipline like the literature, language ,poetics etc.2. Create resourceful students who can contribute in the development of Hindi language in Indian Society. 3. Introduce the students with great cultural heritage of India. "

Mission

The department aims to inspire the students to develop language skills. It encourages and promotes interest in appreciating literature, developing aesthetic sensibility and nurturing all forms of creativity inherent in students.
